Sgt. Tyler Van Dam, a saxophonist and a Moore Park, Calif., native, performs at Point Loma High School Jan. 27 in San Diego during a Marine Band San Diego jazz combo high school tour Jan. 26 through 30. The musical combo is touring high schools throughout Marne Corps Recruiting Station San Diego’s area of operation and teaching students about Marine Corps musician enlistment opportunities. Each performance lasts approximately two hours and encompasses a variety of song styles including original pieces by the musicians.
