Rct. Jacob Trevino, left, and Rct. Landon Rudisill, both with Platoon 2009, Fox Company, 2nd Recruit Training Battalion, climb a Confidence Course obstacle Dec. 8, 2014, on Parris Island, S.C. The Confidence Course is comprised of 15 obstacles designed to help Marine Corps recruits build self-confidence by overcoming physical challenges. Trevino, 20, from Pace, Fla., and Rudisill, 18, from Rutherford College, N.C., are scheduled to graduate Feb. 13, 2015. Parris Island has been the site of Marine Corps recruit training since Nov. 1, 1915. Today, approximately 20,000 recruits come to Parris Island annually for the chance to become United States Marines by enduring 13 weeks of rigorous, transformative training.
