Col. Joseph Martin, director of the Center for Excellence in Disaster Management and Humanitarian Assistance (CFE-DMHA), welcomes Ambassador-Designate to Bangladesh Marcia Bernicat, currently the deputy assistant secretary of the Bureau of Human Resources at the U.S. Department of State, to CFE-DMHA’s headquarters building on Ford Island, Hawaii, Jan. 21. During the meeting, Martin provided the ambassador-designate with a brief of CFE-DMHA’s current initiatives in Bangladesh and a copy of the Center’s Disaster Management Reference Handbook on Bangladesh, which will be updated later this year.
