Dr. Yogendra Gupta, explains uses of research equipment to Rear Adm. James Symonds, commander Navy Region Northwest. Gupta is the director of the Institute for Shock Physics at Washington State University. Rear Adm. Symonds is inspecting the facility while in Washington for Spokane Navy Week from May 11-18. This Navy Week is one of 21 Navy Weeks planned across America in 2009. Navy Weeks are designed to increase awareness in cities that do not have a significant Navy presence.
