Georgian soldiers provide security following a firefight where a simulated attacker shot at them from a vacant building in a remote training area south of Russia as the battalion prepares for a deployment to Afghanistan in support of the global war on terror. The Georgia Deployment Program took shape in late 2009 as the United States Army, Air Force, Navy and Marines teamed up to better prepare Georgian troops prior to deploying into Afghanistan.
