A Georgian soldier provides security during a patrol in a remote training area near the border of Azberjan as they prepare for another deployment in support of the global war on terror. The Georgia Deployment Program took shape in late 2009 as the United States Army, Air Force, Navy and Marines teamed up to better prepare Georgian troops prior to deploying into Afghanistan. The program, now led solely by a team of approximately 50 Marines, transitions to support the mission of Resolute Support Management in Afghanistan and has adapted the shortnened name of GDP-RSM.
