A memorial outside the 376th Expeditionary Security Forces Military Working Dog Flight at Manas Air Base, Kyrgyzstan, serves as a constant reminder of the sacrifices made by K-9s and their handlers. The memorial is in remembrance of man?'s comrade in arms - the K-9s - whose loyalty never waivers during times of peace and war. The memorial was made for Rudy, a faithful friend and K-9 who lost his life in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom in Afghanistan. Civilian and military police members are recognized for their contributions and sacrifices during Police Week, May 10 through May 16. Flags will be flown at half staff, May 15, in honor of Peace Officers Memorial Day.
