Marine with India Company, 3rd Battalion, 1st Marine Regiment plays with a child during a patrol in Haqlaniyah, Iraq, Nov. 30, 2005. During the patrol, the India Company Marines provided security for a civil affairs team during a city damage assessment mission. The Camp Pendleton, Calif.-based battalion conducts counter-insurgency operations and provides stability to the 'Triad' area of Haqlaniyah, Barwanah and Haditha.
