Spc. Michael Vidro, a Lake Alfred, Fla., native and a heavy equipment operator for the 615th Engineer Company, 4th Engineer Battalion, 36th Engineer Brigade, out of Fort Carson, Colo., grades the dirt at the Defense Distribution Expeditionary Yard, Buchanan, Liberia, Jan. 8, 2015, to prepare the staging area for tactical vehicles and supply containers to transition out of Liberia after their mission is complete. His platoon is close to finishing the staging area. Operation United Assistance is a Department of Defense operation in Liberia to provide logistics, training and engineering support to U.S. Agency for International Development-led efforts to contain the Ebola virus outbreak in western Africa.
