(From left) Caleb Peart, a defensive end from Hamilton High School in Gilbert, Ariz., and Kemah Siverand, a wide receiver from Cypress Ridge High School in Houston, take part in a team-building trip to the Santa Monica Pier Wednesday, Dec. 31, 2014, in Santa Monica, Calif., as part of the Semper Fi All-American Bowl. The trip was the concluding event to the national bowl game’s first practice day and helped to solidify many of the relationships formed during the East and West Team’s practices. Earlier in the week, athletes were warned that the training would be intense, hard and rewarding. “You are going to get tested and pressured this week,” said Heath Evans, a former fullback for the Seattle Seahawks, Miami Dolphins, New England Patriots and New Orleans Saints and Super Bowl XLIV winner from West Palm Beach, Florida. “It’s going to suck, but you will be a better, more sound football player after this week,” Evans said. The athletes left the pier ready to usher in a new year with new friends and new teams as they continue to prepare for the East versus West match, which will be nationally televised live from The StubHub Center in Carson at 6 p.m. (PST) on January 4, 2015, on Fox Sports 1.
