Ross Low, commanding officer of the 1st Squadron (Airborne), 40th Cavalry Liaison Monitoring Team, tries on for size an original armored observation post that was used at Fort de Mutzig during the fort's heyday Dec. 13, 2014, during a tour of the fort. 1-40th Cavalry leaders were in the Alsace-Lorraine, France, region conducting a staff ride of World War I-era military landmarks courtesy of the German Jägerbataillon 291 (291st Light Infantry Battalion) of the Franco-German Brigade.
