A fire truck from the Fort Hood Fire Department shoots water over an American Airlines MD-80 aircraft as it arrives at Robert Gray Army Airfield to pick up more families for the Snowball Express. Several family members of fallen military members had boarded the flight in San Antonio and witnessed the traditional “Shower of Affection,” which pays tribute to our fallen and their family members. American Airlines is the primary sponsor of the Snowball Express, a non-profit organization that brings Gold Star families to the Dallas/Fort Worth area each December for a memorable weekend.
