Generaloberstabsarzt Dr. med. Ingo Patschke (the German army surgeon general) visiting the "Viper Pit" medical training facility at Baumholder, Germany on Dec. 9 2014. The "Viper Pit," run by 421st Medical Battalion (Multifunctional), facilitates multiple medical training courses with a primary focus of preparing Soldiers to preserve life of traumatic injuries sustained during Unified Land Operations .
