“Drivers” watch for the checkered flag at the starting line during the “Cub-Annapolis” conducted Dec. 7 at Vogelweh Elementary School. Pack 69 Scouts compete as dens, which transform into “pit crews” for the annual winter race. Racers bearing cardboard “cars” stride across a “track” delineated by tape and cones, pausing between laps for pit crew “services” including snacks, drinks and grooming.
