Aviation Boatswain's Mate Airman Zachary Daugherty, from Knoxville, Tenn., signals an MH-60S Sea Hawk helicopter, assigned to the "Wild Cards" of Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron (HSC) 23, to land on the flight deck of amphibious assault ship USS Makin Island (LHD 8) during a replenishment at sea. The Makin Island Amphibious Ready Group (ARG) and the embarked 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU) are deployed in support of maritime security operations and theater security cooperation efforts in the U.S. 5th Fleet area of responsibility.
