Derek Filloy (right), a Weatherly, Pennsylvania, native and canon crewmember with Battery A, 1st Battalion, 82nd Field Artillery, 1st Cav. Div., during a reenlistment ceremony at Fort Hood, Texas, Nov. 21. Hummel attended Tamaqua Area High School with Filloy’s mother, Megan, and the two families have been friends ever since.
