U.S. Marines cut a cake as part of the Marine Corps’ 239th birthday celebration Nov. 14 during the conclusion of exercise Cooperation Afloat Readiness and Training 2014 at Penanjong, Garrison. The exercise increased interoperability between the nations, while at the same time building personal and professional relationships between the service members. The U.S. Marines are with 2nd Battalion, 9th Marine Regiment, currently assigned to 4th Marine Regiment, 3rd Marine Division, III Marine Expeditionary Force, under the unit deployment program.
