Latvian soldiers from Company B, 1st Battalion, Infantry Brigade move to an M2A3 Bradley Fighting Vehicle from Company A, 2nd Battalion, 8th Cavalry Regiment, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division, during a training exercise at Adazi Training Area, Latvia, Nov. 20, 2014. The soldiers were moving from a scouting position under the cover of smoke prior to an assault on a village where a hostage was being held. Soldiers from 2nd Battalion, 8th Cavalry Regiment, provided technical guidance during the planning and practice phases of the training operation. These activities are part of the U.S. Army Europe-led Operation Atlantic Resolve land force assurance training exercise taking place across Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania and Poland to enhance multinational interoperability, strengthen relationships among allied militaries, contribute to regional stability and demonstrate U.S. commitment to NATO.
