Sgt. Russell Cash from Company A, 2nd Battalion, 8th Cavalry Regiment, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division, leads Latvian troops out of a village following the successful completion of a training exercise consisting of an assault of the village and search and rescue of a hostage at Adazi Training Area, Latvia, Nov. 20, 2014. Cash provided technical and tactical support to the Latvian troops during the operation. These activities are part of the U.S. Army Europe-led Operation Atlantic Resolve land force assurance training exercise taking place across Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania and Poland to enhance multinational interoperability, strengthen relationships among allied militaries, contribute to regional stability and demonstrate U.S. commitment to NATO.
