Andris Bērziņš, the president of Latvia, reviews U.S. troops from Company A, 2nd Battalion, 8th Cavalry Regiment, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division, before the Latvia Day Parade on Nov. 18, 2014 in Riga, Latvia. Norwegian and U.S. forces marched in the parade as a show of solidarity for their Latvian brothers-in-arms. These activities are part of the U.S. Army Europe-led Operation Atlantic Resolve land force assurance training exercise taking place across Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania and Poland to enhance multinational interoperability, strengthen relationships among allied militaries, contribute to regional stability and demonstrate U.S. commitment to NATO.
