Norwegian light infantry soldiers assume a defensive position prior to a combined U.S.-Norwegian live-fire exercise at the Adazi Training Area, Latvia, Nov. 13, 2014. The exercise was used to cultivate a good working relationship between the two armies and observed by members of the Latvian military. The exercise is part of the U.S. Army Europe-led Operation Atlantic Resolve land force assurance training exercise taking place across Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania and Poland to enhance multinational interoperability, strengthen relationships among allied militaries, contribute to regional stability and demonstrate U.S. commitment to NATO.
