A Norwegian army sapper lieutenant explains where fighting positions need to be dug to U.S. Army Cpl. Thomas Olson, a combat engineer team leader from Company A, 91st Engineer Battalion, 8th Cavalry Regiment, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division during a combined live-fire exercise at the Adazi Training Area, Latvia Nov. 13, 2014. This event marks part of the first tank live-fire maneuver exercise in the country since 1994. These activities are part of the U.S. Army Europe-led Operation Atlantic Resolve land force assurance training exercise taking place across Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania and Poland to enhance multinational interoperability, strengthen relationships among allied militaries, contribute to regional stability and demonstrate U.S. commitment to NATO.
