U.S. Navy Petty Officer 2nd Class Victor Longoria from the Military Working Dog Unit at Camp Lemonier, Djibouti, removes a thorn from the paw of his partner "Timmy" during a training session, April 16. Petty Officer Longoria and Timmy are trained and used for explosive/narcotic detection as well as security patrols. The MWD teams fill an important role of camp security by detecting weapons, explosives, narcotics and alerting handlers of their presence.
