Latvian Pfc. Nikita Polakovs, a member of mortar platoon, fire support company, combat support battalion, helps a student from Garkalnes School into a Latvian load-bearing vest during a community outreach event at the school Nov. 11, 2014. U.S. and Norwegian soldiers also participated in the event by displaying military vehicles and equipment and giving a presentation on the culture of their countries and their role in NATO. These activities are part of the U.S. Army Europe-led Operation Atlantic Resolve land force assurance training exercise taking place across Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania and Poland to enhance multinational interoperability, strengthen relationships among allied militaries, contribute to regional stability and demonstrate U.S. commitment to NATO.
