Ninety-two-year-old retired Air Force Col. Paul Koshewa sits beside a panel in the Atlanta History Center’s Veterans Park that features his story of being decorated in three wars: World War II, Korea and Vietnam by accessing a QR code on the pylon. Koshewa spent 13 years of his 30 year military career as a pilot on Dobbins Air Reserve Base and is a Purple Heart recipient as a result of injuries sustained over Linz, Austria when his B-24 was fired upon during a bombing run in July of 1944.
