Cmdr. Scott T. Tasin, commanding officer of dock landing ship USS Comstock (LSD 45), fires a 9mm pistol on the ship’s flight deck during a small-arms live-fire qualification. Comstock is part of the Makin Island Amphibious Ready Group and, with the embarked 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit, is deployed in support of maritime security operations and theater security cooperation efforts in the U.S. 5th Fleet area of responsibility.
