Senior Master Sgt. Linda Waring, an alto vocalist with the Singing Sergeants, the United States Air Force Band, performs during a visit by Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling Commander Navy Capt. Frank Mays. A native of Hagerstown, Md., her career in the Air Force began in September 1995. She is a 1991 graduate of Shepherd University, W.Va., where she received a Bachelor of Arts degree in vocal performance, summa cum laude. She also earned a graduate degree in vocal performance from University of Maryland and completed the University of Maryland Graduate Opera Workshop.
