Master Sgt. Tara E. Islas, a French hornist performs along with other members of the Ceremonial Brass, a fanfare welcoming the Joint Base commander to the band’s hangar. Originally from Mobile, Ala., she began her Air Force career in 1997 with the Band of the West, at Lackland Air Force Base, Texas, and later joined the U.S. Air Force Band in 1999. Islas holds a Bachelor of Music degree in horn performance from Florida State University and a Master of Music degree in horn performance from the Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music.
