Chief petty officers at the USS Ashland table listen to closing remarks made by Naval Station Norfolk Command Master Chief Gregg Snaza during the base's 116th Chief Petty Officer birthday luncheon. The more than 300 local Chiefs who attended the ceremony and luncheon were given the opportunity to take pause and commemorate the 116th anniversary of the establishment of the rank of Chief Petty Officer on April 1, 1893.
