Second Lt. Kathy Morales, a medical service corps officer assigned to the 407th Brigade Support Battalion, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 82nd Airborne Division, begins the second combat testing lane of the Expert Field Medical Badge qualification course hosted by the 44th Medical Brigade on Fort Bragg, N.C., Oct. 27, 2014. The EFMB is awarded to medical personnel that successfully demonstrate proficiency in warrior skills, casualty care and evacuation, cardiopulmonary resuscitation as well as basic tactical skills and physical fitness. Due to the rigorous standards required to earn the EFMB, less than half of the 190 medics assigned to the 2nd BCT are qualified to wear the prestigious badge.
