Boatswain's Mate 2nd Class Joshua Pelletier, from Dracut, Mass., signals an MH-60S Sea Hawk helicopter assigned to the Red Lions of Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron (HSC) 15 for take off from the flight deck of the Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Gridley (DDG-101). Gridley is underway as part of the Carl Vinson Carrier Strike Group. Carl Vinson and its embarked air wing, Carrier Air Wing (CVW) 17, are on deployment in the 7th Fleet area of operations supporting security and stability in the Indo-Asia-Pacific region.
