U.S. Marine Brig. Gen. Paul J. Kennedy, middle, congratulates U.S. Marine engineers and Philippine Navy Seabees Oct. 6 for the progress they have made building two new classrooms and bathroom at Maoyon Elementary School in Puerto Princesa, Palawan, Philippines. Kennedy and the service members discussed the impact the new classrooms and bathroom will have on the community, including the importance of the new buildings providing the resources needed to teach more than 100 students. Kennedy is the commanding general of 3rd Marine Expeditionary Brigade, III Marine Expeditionary Force. The U.S. Marines are with Marine Wing Support Squadron 172, Marine Aircraft Group 36, 1st Marine Aircraft Wing, III MEF, and the Philippine Seabees are with Naval Combat Engineering Brigade.
