Rear Adm. Joseph Kilkenny, commander, Naval Education and Training discusses training requirements with crewmembers of USS Independence (LCS 2), during his visit to the ship to see first hand the second littoral combat ship delivered to the Navy. LCS is a new breed of U.S. Navy warship with versatile war fighting capabilities, capable of open-ocean operation, but optimized for littoral, or coastal, missions.
