    The Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Gridley (DDG 101), left, the Military Sealift Command fleet replenishment oiler USNS John Ericsson (T-AO 194), middle, and the Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Wayne E. Meyer (DDG 108) transit the Pacific Ocean during a photograph exercise (PHOTOEX) as part of Valiant Shield. Gridley is underway as part of the Carl Vinson Carrier Strike Group. Carl Vinson and its embarked air wing, Carrier Air Wing 17, are on deployment in the U.S. 7th Fleet area of operations supporting Valiant Shield.
