Meyer (DDG 108), USS Sterett (DDG 104), USS Mustin (DDG 89) and USS Stethem (DDG 63) transit the Pacific Ocean during a photograph exercise (PHOTOEX) as part of Valiant Shield. Sterett is underway as part of the Carl Vinson Carrier Strike Group. Carl Vinson and its embarked air wing, Carrier Air Wing 17, are on deployment in the U.S. 7th Fleet area of operations supporting Valiant Shield. Valiant Shield is a U.S.-only biennial exercise in which participation will focus on the integration of joint training among U.S. forces.
