A Prisoner of War and Missing in Action monument is permanently displayed at Al Udeid Air Base, Qatar. In July 1979, the first national POW/MIA ceremony was held in Washington where the 1st Tactical Squadron from what is now Joint Base Langley-Eustis, Virginia, flew the Missing Man formation.
