U.S. Navy Seaman Nicholas Casiano, a beach master with Beach Master Unit 2, amphibious transport dock ship USS Mesa Verde (LPD 19), and native of Birmingham, Ala., guides a landing craft, air cushion with Assault Craft Unit 4 as it carries 22nd Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU) vehicles ashore during an equipment wash down. The 22nd MEU is deployed with the Bataan Amphibious Ready Group as a theater reserve and crisis response force throughout U.S. Central Command and the U.S. 5th Fleet area of responsibility.
