Petty Officer 1st Class Nicholas Hughes instructs Sailors on the proper use of I-type metal shoring aboard the nuclear-powered aircraft carrier USS Nimitz. Hughes is a member of Afloat Training Group Pacific whom are instructing and evaluating Nimitz's crew. Nimitz and Carrier Air Wing 11 are conducting training availability off the coast of Southern California.
