Sgt. Maj. Robin C. Fortner, sergeant major of the Ground Combat Element Integrated Task Force, speaks to the Marines and Sailors of GCEITF about the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11, 2001, and how the world stood still that day, during a remembrance formation at Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune, Sept. 11, 2014. Fortner asked the Marines to look to the left and the right and to think about where the Marines and Sailors were on that tragic day. The Marines and Sailors held a moment of silence and said a prayer with the chaplain, honoring those who have fallen since 9/11. From October 2014 to July 2015, the GCEITF will conduct individual and collective level skills training in designated ground combat arms occupational specialties in order to facilitate the standards-based assessment of the physical performance of Marines in a simulated operating environment performing specific ground combat arms tasks.
