General John Kelly, commander of U.S. Southern Command, speaks to Peruvian media during a press conference held aboard the future amphibious assault ship USS America (LHA 6), Aug. 31, 2014. The press conference, held on the ship’s flight deck, provided the media with the opportunity to speak with the ship’s command and Peruvian officials. America also hosted tours and an evening reception during her four-day port visit.
