Peruvian Minister of Defense Pedro Cateriano Bellido (left) presents a gift to Lt. Col. George Hasseltine, commanding officer of Special Purpose Marine Air Ground Task Force South, and a native of Metairie, La., during a leadership conference held aboard the future amphibious assault ship USS America (LHA 6), Aug. 31, 2014. The leadership conference was part of a key leader engagement with the ship’s command and Peruvian diplomats and military officials focusing on the importance of partnership and cooperation between our two nations. Special Purpose Marine Air Ground Task Force South is embarked aboard America in support of her maiden transit, "America Visits the Americas."
