Gunnery Sgt. Arturo Belmonte (right), non-lethal weapons instructor with Special Purpose Marine Air Ground Task Force South, supervises Lance Cpl. Brian Bridges, a mortarman with SPMAGTF-South, and a native of Mansfield, Mass., defending himself against a simulated enemy combatant after being contaminated with oleoresin capsicum (OC) spray during an OC qualification course aboard the future amphibious assault ship USS America (LHA 6), Aug. 28, 2014. Participants were required to execute multiple self-defense stations after being sprayed on the forehead before receiving their certification to carry OC. While in transit, Marines and Sailors aboard are taking advantage of training such as this in order to improve upon their military knowledge and tactics. SPMAGTF-South is currently embarked aboard America in support of her maiden transit, "America visits the Americas." (U.S. Marine Corps Photo by Cpl. Donald Holbert/ Released)
