Staff Sgt. Dustin Simmons, a native of Stillwater, Okla., who serves as a squad leader with 3rd Platoon, Delta Company, 1st Battalion, 12th Infantry Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 4th Inf. Div., watches as an artillery round impacts on a remote hillside south of Kandahar Airfield, Afghanistan, Aug. 22, 2014. The round was part of a shoot that provided training for the 1-12 Inf. as well as allowed 2nd Battalion, 77th Field Artillery Regt., 4th IBCT, 4th Inf. Div., to register, or zero, their M777A2 howitzers which were recently brought to KAF from Forward Operating Base Pasab.
