Lieutenant Col. George Hasseltine, commanding officer of Special Purpose Marine Air Ground Task Force South, and a native of Metairie, La., is interviewed by a member of the Chilean media during a tour aboard the future amphibious assault ship USS America (LHA 6) in the Strait of Magellan, Aug. 19, 2014. The tour was part of a key leader engagement and was followed by a formal lunch and a leadership conference discussing the importance of partnership and cooperation between the U.S. Naval forces and the Nation of Chile. SPMAGTF-South is embarked aboard America in support of her maiden transit, “America Visits the Americas.” The transit aims to demonstrate the capabilities the Navy-Marine Corps team brings to our nation and partners.
