Chilean Division General Ricardo Martinez Menanteau, Navy vice chief of Staff, the new M27 Infantry Automatic Rifle during a tour aboard the future amphibious assault ship USS America (LHA 6) in the Strait of Magellan, Aug. 19, 2014. The tour was part of a key leader engagement and was followed by a formal lunch and a leadership conference discussing the importance of partnership and cooperation between the U.S. Naval forces and the Nation of Chile. SPMAGTF-South is embarked aboard America in support of her maiden transit, “America Visits the Americas.” The transit aims to demonstrate the capabilities the Navy-Marine Corps team brings to our nation and partners.
