A static display showing the aerial delivery capabilities of Special Purpose Marine Air Ground Task Force South is set in the hangar bay of the future amphibious assault ship USS America (LHA 6) in the Strait of Magellan, Aug. 19, 2014. The static display was part of a key leader engagement with American and Chilean diplomats and military officials. The KLE also consisted of a formal lunch and a leadership conference discussing the importance of partnership and cooperation between the U.S. Naval forces and the Nation of Chile. SPMAGTF-South is embarked aboard America in support of her maiden transit, “America Visits the Americas.” The transit aims to demonstrate the capabilities the Navy-Marine Corps team brings to our nation and partners.
