Marines and sailors with Companies E (red) and G (blue) of 2nd Battalion, 6th Marine Regiment, 2nd Marine Division, compete in a 5-on-5 basketball game as part of the Spartan Cup, battalion field meet Aug. 14, 2014, aboard Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune, N.C. More than a dozen events, spanning the entire day, pitted company against company for bragging rights and the Spartan Cup trophy. The event also included a barbecue and entertainment, such as bounce houses and hula-hoop competitions, for the families in attendance. The event gave service members a chance to introduce their families to the unit, while building unit cohesion through athletic competition.
