Lance Cpl. Carl Holton, a rifleman with Company F, 2nd Battalion, 6th Marine Regiment, 2nd Marine Division, aims his shotgun during a skeet-shooting competition as part of the Spartan Cup, battalion field meet Aug. 14, 2014, aboard Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune, N.C. More than a dozen events, spanning the entire day, pitted company against company for bragging rights and the Spartan Cup trophy. The event also included a barbecue and entertainment, such as bounce houses and hula-hoop competitions, for the families in attendance. The event gave service members a chance to introduce their families to the unit, while building unit cohesion through athletic competition.
