Cpl. Miles Crane, a 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit intelligence analyst, recovers a recently-landed Silver Fox, an Unmanned Aerial Vehicle during Exercise Cobra Gold 2009, Feb. 10. The Silver Fox UAV system was provided to the 31st MEU by Advanced Ceramics Research based out of Tucson, Az. and the Office of Naval Research, in order to conduct an extended user evaluation of the system in support of 31st MEU operations. Cobra Gold '09 is a bilateral exercise focusing on military interoperability training and strengthening the long-standing partnership between the Royal Thai and U.S Armed Forces.
