Seaman Alyssum Richards, from Sequim, Wash., uses a laser range finder to determine the distance between the aircraft carrier USS John C. Stennis and the Military Sealift Command fleet replenishment oiler USNS Pecos as an MH-60S Sea Hawk helicopter from the "Eightballers" of Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron 8 picks up supplies during a replenishment-at-sea. John C. Stennis and Carrier Air Wing 9 are on a scheduled six-month deployment to the western Pacific Ocean.
